Graffiti can be both-Art and vandalism. Most people who see handstyles-tags, which are the most basic form of graffit-a printed name, is vandalism. But handstyles can have tremendous creativity, just like any other well done typography. Funny because its the thing that gets done, and practiced the most!

I think the previous comment is true. But graffiti has a vandalistic nature to it, u cant deny that. The question is why is their a vandalistic nature to it, thats what the british goverment dont ask because they dont want people to start thining. The more the public see this as mindless the better for them. When the truth is this isnt a mindless act (if you're vandalising) i. But graffiti can also be art, not just in what is done but the way it is executed. It becomes more than a 2D platform and the art now exists in the areas of WHAT the individual has done, The STYLE in which it was done, THE PLACE where it was done (the composition) and HOW it was done.

Billboards, rooftops, rollers, overhangs, top to bottoms, whole cars, Ultrafat tags... all differnet methods of execution made alive with curiosity and imagination. You can't beat that, thats creativity.

Great stuff,the question asked in the UK is, is it art or just a vandal,in my view in most case`s the Vandal is the council and planner`s who leave places to rot being over run by rats, where as put art on these blank canvas`s whether good or bad give it colour makes it come alive.............any other points of view?
